Reviews for The Captain's Boil - Vancouver
Review highlights
Based on 1,574 reviewsThe Captain's Boil is consistently praised for its flavorful seafood offerings, particularly its signature sauces and generous portions of items like Dungeness crab and mussels. Customers appreciate the fresh, quality ingredients and the opportunity to enjoy all-you-can-eat deals that provide good value for seafood lovers. The casual, hands-on dining experience is a distinct aspect of the restaurant, with an emphasis on eating with hands assisted by tools such as scissors and seafood crackers. While the food quality and taste receive strong commendations, some feedback notes that the service, although friendly and attentive, can be stretched thin during busy periods, occasionally leading to minor delays. Reservations are recommended to avoid long waits. Overall, The Captain's Boil maintains a welcoming atmosphere with a comfort-food appeal that encourages repeat visits from devoted patrons.
My all time favorite and a go-to seafood restaurant. When I was pregnant with my first born, I can eat here 3-4 tines a week! Love their cajun sauce in mild. It's a comfort food for me.
Came here for the ayce mussels, shrimp and fries deal for $47/pp. Service was absolutely amazing despite how busy they were and all our food came out fresh every round we ordered. Highly recommend you take advantage of the deal if you love seafood! Make sure you reserve beforehand to avoid waiting.
I love their Dungeness crab so so much! Meaty and flavorful captain’s boil sauce is my fave one. If you can dip the cajun fried rice in it, that will be the game changer
Great food. Not cheap but definitely delicious. They do not have utensils here. Be ready to use your hands exclusively. They do supply scissors and nut/ seafood cracker. They only had 1 crab fork for the entire restaurant. Maybe bring your own. Service was ok. They definitely put the effort in and were friendly however, there was 1 waitress for everyone. We waited a bit for things like drinks. Food was promptly served. Our waitress took time to explain the menu. Overall we enjoyed our meal we just had a hard time getting all the delicious meat out!
I recently visited Captain’s Boil in Richmond and had an amazing experience! We tried the Matey’s Palate, and it was absolutely worth it. The quantity was generous, and the quality of the seafood exceeded expectations. What really stood out was the service. The staff were incredibly friendly, attentive, and helpful. They guided us through the menu, which was especially appreciated—seafood menus can sometimes feel overwhelming, but they made everything easy to understand and enjoyable. Overall, the atmosphere, food, and service came together perfectly. If you’re looking for a great seafood spot where you’ll be well taken care of, I highly recommend giving Captain’s Boil a try!
